Its been a while but the bike is getting to its final stages just need an engine rebuild, paint work, finnish re wiring oh and brakes ![]() Problems I have now, well when I get the engine back (been rebuilt to stage 3), Is I have a power valve control unit from an RD 350 (5wire) and the powervalve servo from an RD350 (5 wire) but both have male connections, is there a part to join the 2, also will the Cdi from the RD350 fit on to a TZR 125r 4HW, my old 1 didnt have an electronic powervalve system so this is a new area for me to look at and the learning curve is well lets say expensive lol. This should also be lighter than the Begarde as the subframe on Belgarde was steel, and 4 HW is Allie, eventually the engine supports and rear end light houseing will also be remaid from allie. So now I have a 4HW frame with paper work, which is going off to be modified so it can take the lighter swing arm from the Belgarde (3MA) and also to have swing arm extensions fitted. Now its time to relive my youth, so I bought a Belgarde frame but got stung as the promised paper work from the braker never arrived. I have a Haynes manual but it doesn't cover the valve assembly cos it shouldn't have one fitted !!!.Hi its been many years since I had a TZR had 1 back in 93 brand new and loved it until my best mate broke into my garrage, stole it and trashed it. The problem I see is the fixed movement of the servo, so if I adjust the valve so it is fully open at lower revs then when the revs get higher the valve will continue past the fully open position and start to block the outlet track ?.Īnyone got any ideas on how to get it setup so the valve is fully open at lower revs ?.Īnd does anyone know what revs the valve should be open on the TZR125 ?. I've looked at the pulley housing and that has 29L on it which I thought was a 350 YPVS part, or were they the same part numbers used on the TZR125 ?. If I remove the cables and peg the valve in the fully open position I get exactly what you'd expect, no bottom end power whatsoever, then good power between 6,000 - 8,000rpm, then it goes ballistic from 8,000 - 10.500rpm. ![]() the valve doesn't get to the fully open position until the revs get to about 10,000rpm, which is obviously far too late. does the cleaning cycle and sits in the fully open position with the ignition on and the bike not running, and when you start the bike the valve moves to the closed position and when you rev it it moves towards the open position. I've checked the valve and cable settings and they look spot-on, i.e. This bike has nice low down power but it just doesn't have the power it should have up in the revs. I've done some research and apparently the only restriction on these bikes was the Valve pegged in the closed position and no Servo etc. I've got a 1989 2RK (UK restricted) TZR125 that has has a full YPVS system fitted. ![]() Anyone here an expert on setting up the YPVS on the TZR125 ?.
